*Enos W Brazelton on a Alabama Confederate Service Cards from Alabama State Archives, was listed by the name Ernest or E.W. He joined 3rd Alabama Cavalry, Company F in Perry County, Alabama. One of his papers says he enlisted 1 Dec 1864 and yet he is on the Muster Roll of 31 Oct 1864. So he must have enlisted sometime in 1864 at the age of 16 as a Private.
A card in his compiled military records states:
His name appears on a Roll of Prisoners of War of stragglers, Confederate
States Army, commanded by [blank], surrendered at [blank] by Lieut. Gen. R.
Taylor, CSA, to Maj. Gen. ERS Canby, USA, May 4, 1865 and paroled at
Selma, Ala, June 1865.
*E W was living with his family in Franklin county Tennessee in 1850. He must have moved with his family about 1859 to Perry County, Alabama. Because E.W. was counted on the 1860 census in Perry County, Alabama. He was 12 years old in the 1860 census.
*E W 's father was Andra J. Brazelton.
Andra was born in 1815 in Tennessee.
Andra married Francy C. about 1840. Francy was born in 1822 in South Carolina. She died about 1858.
