*James C. Ingersoll Muster in on 25 Apr 1861 as a Bugler into  Capt. Jenkins Company, Mounted Rifles, Alabama Volunteers, at the age of 39 years.
He was enlisted in Wilcox county for 12 months, by Capt Jenkins.

His horse was worth $175 and his horse Equipments worth $25.

He was counted on the following Muster Rolls:

31 Aug to Oct 31 1861
31 Oct to Dec 31 1861

*James was born in 1822 in New York and he was counted in a census in 1860 in Wilcox County, Alabama. He has $3,000  of real estate  and $2,015 of personal property. He was employed as printer in 1860 in Prairie Bluff, Wilcox County, Alabama.
He married Elizabeth . Elizabeth was born in 1831 in South Carolina.

They had the following children:

     F     i.     Eliza J. Ingersoll was born in 1850 in Alabama .

     F     ii.     Lawrence J Ingersoll 5 was born in 1852 in Alabama .

     F     iii.     Narcissa G Ingersoll 6 was born in 1854 in Alabama .
